The symbiotic musical collaboration Tomorrow Comes The Harvest was initiated by Nigerian drummer Tony Allen—one of the pioneers of the Afrobeat genre—and Detroit techno veteran Jeff Mills. Together with keyboardist Jean-Phi Dary, the trio found common ground in a tradition of using music as a pathway to higher states of consciousness, touring internationally until Tony Allen passed away in 2020.
Nevertheless, the foundation of the concept had been laid, and with the addition of tabla virtuoso Prabhu Edouard, the project has now entered a new chapter. During a Tomorrow Comes The Harvest performance, improvisation is used to explore the unknown, cross sonic boundaries, and transcend rhythms.
